摘要

Commonly used lamps for producing artificial lights at homes and offices are Incandescent lamp (IL), Fluorescent Lamp (FL) & Compact Fluorescent Lamp (CFL). Currently the world is facing the power crisis for which steps are being taken to overcome this problem by managing the available power. Replacement of incandescent and FL with CFL is also among these steps. This paper presents a comparative analysis between CFL and FL on the basis of several factors such as efficacy, power consumption, power quality, life and cost. Experiments have been conducted in Electrical Power System Lab (NED University). The results show that the replacement of FL lamps with CFL wouldn't benefit.
