In order to investigate the physiological effects of airport noise on organism, noise emitted from aircrafts were sampled at a resident near an airport and then exposed to SD rats in the soundproof chamber. Aircraft noise were played according to actual case and adjusted its weighted equivalent continuous perceive noise level (L_(WECPN)) of 75dB and 80dB. Behaviors of rats were tested through open field experiment and the concentration of serum Norepinephrine (NE) and 5-hydroxytryptamine (5-HT) were determined with the High Performance Liquid Chromatography-Fluorimetric (HPLC-FLD) and synapse alteration in temporal lobe were observed by Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM). The results showed that comparing with the control group, neurobehavioral function of the rats were significantly changed (P<0.05) after airport noise exposure; the concentration of serum NE of experimental groups were higher than the control group while 5-HT concentration of the experimental groups were lower but with no significant difference (P>0.05); moreover, the structures of neuron and synapse synapse in temporal lobe of the rats presented a significantly damaged after 65 days' aircraft noise exposure.
