Landscape Structure of Arid and Semi-Arid Forest in Iran

Irano-Touranian evergreen and broadleaved forests is one zone of five zones that arid and semi-arid forests located in this zone about 3.5 million hectare. Pistachio (Pistacia.vera) belongs to the Anacardiaceae family. Plants of this family are tree or shrub and totally to be formed from 75 genera and 600 species and separated at 27-42 degree from north and located in the northeast of Iran. Several approaches towards to the effects of landscape attribute developed in recent years. Objects and questions of this research; 1- Analysis of landscape structure 2- View point of pistachio cover 3- Create temperature map 4- 3D view of pistachio forest 5- Relationship between of pistachio number and elevation 6- Relationship between of pistachio number and temperature. For this study, we analyze The Advanced Land Observing Satellite (ALOS) data, using multispectral band (AVNIR-2) with 10-meter resolution Panchromatic (PRISM 3D) with 2.5-meter resolution. Have been analyses the Advanced Spaceborne Thermal Emission and Reflection Radiometer (ASTER) data and Landsat TM and ETM+ thermal bands. The result of this processor was good accurate about 0.9027 meter parallax error and resolution was 2.5 meter. Also we make temperature surface from three data. The result indicate mostly pistachio grows in the range of 35-37 ' C. Also there is more pistachio tree in range of >850 meter above sea level. We hope the result of this research will be enabled better decision making for natural resource managers in fields of environmental benefit and give reliable inventory data of valuable resources from arid and semi-arid areas lead to sustainable management in general.
