At this crucial stage, the sorts of government's crises turn up inevitably, which are resulted from the fact that our country is in the process of economic reformation and social transition. The government's crisis management is called as a process of ongoing crisis communication. In China, government's crisis management begins to become a hot topic after the 2003 "atypical pneumonia" incident. With the entering the information age, the application of new media not only provides a new mode of communication for the government's crisis management, but also brings the new opportunities and challenges. Therefore, how to form an effective interaction among government and the new media has become an important problem in the research of the government's crisis management. In this paper, I will proceed from the perspectives of communication and public relations, analyzing specific cases, combining of the characteristics of the new media, to explore the effects of the new media in the government's crisis management, and try to put forward the corresponding strategies.
