摘要

Japanese first High Speed Test Track (HSTT) for academic use was constructed in Hokkaido prefecture in Oct. 2009. Fundamental research was initiated on the prototype track, which has 300 m in length and 1.43 m in width, in anticipation of the construction of full-scale track (3 km in length). The step-wise water brake, water lubrication system and an accurate prediction tool were introduced in order to realize the optimum acceleration/deceleration running profile. Compared to the ordinal HSTT, a low-cost, frequent use of the HSTT facility is attempted. Aerodynamic measurement system on the sled is also described.
