摘要

As the economic development of society advances, the traffic flow of expressways also shows this trend of fast growth. Especially during the holidays such as the Spring Festival, minor vacations and Golden-week holidays, the traffic flow increases sharply. This article is based on a large amount of research data about the traffic flow of expressways during the holidays. It is well described in detail regarding the characteristics of time distribution, space distribution and the traffic surrounding expressway transportation during the holidays. A thorough analysis of the reasons for usual and unexpected traffic congestion is made in this paper. Also the associated measures of expressway operation and management during the holidays, such as the capacity of road network, the dynamic control of traffic flow, the prevention of and emergency response to incidents, are proposed.
