摘要

ASC-conditioned medium was found to increase HDMEC survival, proliferation and migration. It contains various factors as e.g. PDGF-AB, FGF2, VEGFA and IL8, but also other factors (data not shown) which have a largely unknown function in the effects observed for HDMEC in general or in the interaction between ASC and HDMEC in special. The interaction between ASC and HDMEC is biologically highly relevant. Collagen scaffolds seeded with ASC and endothelial progenitor cells were found to form vascular networks in vivo [Traktuev et al., 2009], and ASC in vivo were shown to contribute to cancer progression by supporting extensive neovascularization of tumorigenic tissue [Zhang et al., 2009]. Thus, the closer investigation of the the distinct factors involved in regulation of HDMEC survival, proliferation and migration could either lead to the development of specialized drugs promoting revascularization of deficient tissue or to drugs inhibiting uncontrolled neovascularization as occuring during tumorigenesis.
