The prototype system described in the paper affords systematic storage and analysis of parcel based land information in a locally distributed system within a region (district). The system provides basic components for generation and delivery of spatial information at very affordable costs since the system has been developed using OSS. The ongoing work is focused at implementing the system in a centralized distributed database environment via Web connecting all spatial database servers to be established and maintained at local level. This can provide a platform for developing Spatial Data Infrastructure (SDI) through collective participation among related stake holders in order to realize standardized data exchange mechanism.
