Nowadays, China has moved into the fast urbanization period. Agglomeration as a new urbanization form has been the strategic choice for China. There is a high demand for land in the rapid urbanization process, and land intensive use has a great impact on land use and management of agglomeration. In this paper, Entire-Array-Polygon Evaluation Model has been employed to quantitatively analyze the changes of land intensity in Wuhan metropolitan agglomeration from 2001 to 2010. The result shows that: 1) the Entire-Array-Polygon Evaluation Model can be used in evaluating the land use intensity. It also has an advantage that it can take into account the systematic feature of the evaluated object and reduce the subjective effect. 2) In terms of the single indicator analysis, it indicates that economic growth is not only the main driving forces for construction land expansion, but also the key impact factor of land intensive use level improvement. 3) The comprehensive land use intensity of Wuhan metropolitan agglomeration was gradually increasing during the research period. However, the trend can further divided into two stages, i.e., the former stage increased slower than the latter.
