Realization of imaging system of low light level night vision based on EMCCD

EMCCD has advantages of low operating voltage, small volume etc, compared with light equipment of photomultiplier tube, image intensifier etc. But compared with conventional CCD imaging device, EMCCD has the internal structural features of the multiplier mechanism, and the electron multiplying signal driving has characteristics of high frequency and high voltage, which increase the difficulty of realization of imaging system. In this paper, the low light level night vision system was whole designed based on EMCCD, and the driving circuit, sampling circuit and electromagnetic compatibility was designed in detail. At last, this paper provide system test and summary. Tested based on EMCCD CCD201 imaging chip driver waveform, the parts based on the waveform and voltage regulating circuit of switch power supply adjustment performance, under the light of multipactor imaging experiments, realize the automatic gain control system. Test results show that the design satisfies the requirement of low light level night vision applications.
