Computer literacy education using self-learning environment

Recent research results show a self-learning environment using latest learning technology leads effective results for both active and inactive learners. In this report, we show the practice of self-learning environment that was applied to an introductory course of computer literacy in Kobe Women's Junior College, in which self-learning text and "confirmation card" are prepared and instructors support each learner politely when they have some troubles through the learning of computer literacy. It was found that most learners were favorably disposed toward self-learning system, in which they can keep own learning pace, judging from the answer of class evaluation questionnaire.
