This study examined the flow fields in a rearing tank by numericalcalculation. In this calculation, we modified the numerical calculationby Shiotani et al. (2005) by assuming that flow fields are two-phaseflows, and changing the boundary conditions. We numericallycalculated the flow fields in a cylindrical tank having different aspectratios (AR, the ratio of water depth H to tank radius ri ). Flows weremodeled with AR = 0.5, 1.0, and 2.0 and an aeration rate Q of 10 mlper minute. The model results were verified by comparison with flowvisualization results.
