摘要

Objective Numerous Chinese patients with Diabetic nephropathy (DN) have benefited from Chinese herbs. However, there is no systematic evaluation about them. Methods We conducted a meta-analysis to all eligible randomized clinical trials (RCTs) to assess the effect of Chinese herbs on DN for the first time. Results Five eligible RCTs with 356 participants; Chinese herbs brought a favorable increase in total remission (TR) (RR2.60, 95 %CI 1.55 to4.34, I~2 = 0 %) compared with non-Chinese herbs treatment; Exploiting subgroup meta-analysis, Chinese herbs led to significantly improvements of DN with ACEI treatment with regard to the decrease of urinary proteinuria excretion (UPE) (MD -23.65 ug/min, 95 % CI -29.37 to -17.92,I~2 = 0 %) Conclusion Chinese herbs was certainly a valuable and promising treatment remedy for DN.
