To encourage greater student participation and more efficient instruction, we propose a method for classifying text questions communicated through a social media channel used as an informal complement to academic coursework. Specifically, we implement a system that uses basic regular expressions (BRE) to extract and organize Thai questions posted in class-related Facebook groups. Test data is used to identify the most effective identifiers and to evaluate the system as a whole, in a practical academic context.
