Current Situation and Discussion of Structural Design for Super High-Rise Buildings above 250m in China

In China, super high-rise buildings have got rapid development by far, which spread from Yantze River delta and Pearl River delta to other regions such ascircum-Bohai-Sea region and some second-tier cities.For buildings with different heights, the frame-core tube, framed tube-core tube, mega frame-core tube and mega frame-core tube-mega brace are commonly adopted.Through construction cost of collected projects, the influences of height, seismic intensity and structural material on cost of installation and civil engineering are analyzed.Issues of structural design and analysis, such as aspect ratio, area proportion of core tube, vertical loads, horizontal control loads and seismic response on long-period seismic action, are illustrated.With the aim of reducing seismic response, viscous damper is widely used as an energy-dissipation measure.Therefore, the application and prospect of viscous damper on super high-rise buildings are presented at last.
