In this paper, we proposed the impact of the rear laser opening ratio applied to screen-printed passivated emitter and rear cell (PERC) structure. We compared different laser opening ratio (3.5%, 4%, 4.5%, and 5%) on a high-efficiency level using 156×156 mm~2 p-type Cz silicon wafers. It could be found that employing the 5% opening ratio outperforms all other opening ratio due to its excellent aluminum back surface field. The average series resistance of the 5% opening ratio PERC solar cells was also smaller than all other opening ratio solar cells. Besides, by using the 5% opening ratio PERC solar cells, the conversion efficiencies of 20.51% for the best PERC solar cell and 20.15% for the average of more than 100,000 mass production PERC solar cells were measured.
