The National Full-Scale Aerodynamics Complex recently completed a test campaign with NASA testing Hypersonic Inflatable Aerodynamic Decelerators in the 40- by 80-ft Wind Tunnel. This test program presented a unique opportunity to verify the facility's Hensel correction for blockage and determine whether it could accurately be applied to bluff bodies. Testing was conducted on similarly shaped models at different scales, providing an optimal research case with which to verify the correction.
