摘要

Stochastic behaviors and intrinsic variability of emerging nonvolatile memories (NVMs) can be utilized to design hardware security solutions. Proposals of true random number generator (TRNG) and physical unclonable function (PUF) based on emerging NVMs are reviewed in this paper. A PUF design based on differential resistance in resistive random access memory (RRAM) is analyzed in details to illustrate this novel application of emerging NVMs.
