As a new and promising mode of transportation, high-speed maglev train has attracted increasing attention. The DC/DC converter with high reliability performance plays an important role in the maglev train to provide stable and reliable output power. To improve the efficiency and logic of reliability analysis, this paper presents the forward comprehensive reliability analysis (FCRA) method, a kind of new reliability analysis method based on Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) and Fault Mode Effect and Analysis (FMEA). After analyzing the frame and principle of a DC/DC converter, a FMEA table of DC/DC converter is established based on the theoretical analysis of converter. With the FMEA table, the fault tree is constructed from the top event step-by-step in order. Finally, the paper makes qualitative and quantitative evaluations for fault tree and makes suggestion to improve the reliability of DC/DC converters. This method can effectively analyze the reliability of DC/DC converter and help with maintenance and repair work.
