The FOAM-2 module contained three experiments in the field of physics of foams. Two experiments were improved re-flights from the FOAMS module on MAXUS 4, and one experiment was a precursor test for the International Space Station. The objective of the stability experiment was to create aqueous foam in microgravity and to study the coarsening process. The foam was studied by an overview and a close-up camera. The objective of the Drainage experiment was to test foam generation and cell cleaning techniques for later use on the ISS, and to study the liquid absorption in aqueous foam under microgravity. The foam was studied by an overview camera and DTS(Diffuse Transmission Spectroscopy) measurement. The objective of the transient experiment was to study the foam-killing mechanisms in transient non-aqueous foam. The experiment was studied by an overview camera and a high-speed camera. All three experiments performed well and data was collected as foreseen. The image sequences from the high-speed camera could not be retrieved after flight, possibly because of the rough landing.
