This paper reported on excessive pressures of the underwater shock wave generated in the confined space constructed by two acrylic plates. In the case of the open space experiment, the experimental pressure attenuation behind shock wave front was obtained good agreements with the computational results. However, in the case of the confined space, the experimental pressure values are much smaller than the computational prediction, and the large pressure differences from the computational results were shown. Those pressure differences of the excessive pressures were considered to be caused by stress waves in the acrylic plates and the deformation of the plates.
