Laser-induced flourescence imaging as a non-intrusive optical diagnostic tool is proving to be beneficial in many fields of research. Toluene as a tracer allows for the study of various scenarios. Several researchers, particularly in the combustion community, have realized the potential of LIF imaging for measurement of various flow field parameters. The dependence of toluene's LIF signal on parameters such as temperature and oxygen partial pressure may be taken advantage of as has been shown in previous studies. Much of the published work constitutes studies of high temperature conditions. In this study, toluene-LIF imaging has been used in the low temperature conditions of a supersonic flow.
