With the rise of CubeSat usage there is a growing use-case for low Reynolds number nozzles as a component within micro-propulsion systems. However, design of such systems is difficult due to the viscous losses encountered in such low Reynolds number flow regimes. As part of a program to develop a design tool for efficient micro-nozzle design, the performance of a test nozzle is measured across a range of Reynolds numbers to create an experimental database for model validation. The thrust and specific impulse efficiency of are measured using a torsional thrust balance at various flow rates to cover the Reynolds number range of 60 - 500 for 300 K nitrogen.
