In this paper, the closed-form expression of outage probability (OP) was investigated for multiple-input multipleoutput (MIMO) cooperative system with selective OFDMA relaying strategy. Transmit beamforming (TB) and maximum ratio combining (MRC) were carried out at source transmission and destination reception, respectively. Based on the Kolmogrovsmirnov test, we first analyzed the impact of number of relays on the outage performance under arbitrary Nakagmi-m fading channels. Results reveals that increasing the number of relays is not always necessary for the improvement of outage performance. Extensive simulations validate the theoretical analysis.
