This paper deals with a DTC strategy based on the bus-clamping technique (BCDTC) dedicated to three-level NPC inverter fed induction motor (IM) drives. The study is initiated by the synthesis of two vector selection tables, one for each rotation direction, suitably arranged taking into account the bus-clamping technique. This later consists in keeping the voltage of each phase of the IM linked to one of the dc-bus terminals during thirtydegrees interval in every quarter cycle of the reference stator voltage. Simulation works, carried out considering a case study where the IM is loaded by its rated torque, have demonstrated the high performance of the proposed BCDTC strategy.
