With the regional development of offshore oil field, the offshore oil andgas treatment and transportation system gets more and morecomplicated. Any change for the multiphase pipeline operation systemsuch as shutdown, restart up, pigging, variation of the flowrates etccould arouse hydrodynamic or severe slugging also the terrainfluctuant. Severe slugging could interfere the downstream processsystem and even bring about damage. The article analyses three casesin an offshore oilfield multiphase pipeline during pigging operation,and aims at analyzing the slugging flow problem and control methodsto provide experience for similar case.
