The Soret, molecular and thermodiffusion coefficients of ternary liquid systems were measured on the International Space Station by digital interferometry in the frame of the DCMIX research program. In the first occurance of the experiment, DCMIX1, a series of systems of 1,2,3,4-Tetrahydronaphtalene, Isobutylbenzene and n-Dodecane were investigated. Five systems of different chemical compositions were studied to obtain a mapping of the concentration dependence of the diffusive coefficients. This paper describes briefly the principle of the experiments, the experimental set up and the methodology developed to retrieve the transport coefficients. Main achievements of DCMIX1 are discussed by comparing measured coefficients to data available in literature. The accuracy on the obtained coefficients is discussed.
