摘要

Creep behavior in soils is closely related to the stress level. To determine the effect of load level on creep behavior of soil nails, pullout tests were conducted at the NGES-TAMU (National Geotechnical Experimentation Site at Texas A&M University) clay site. Pull-out tests were performed on existing anchors installed in 1991, already tested with a very well-known load history, were retested to explore any possible effect related to fluctuation of environmental conditions and long-term installation, and different load protocols with creep steps at different load levels. A significant increase in pullout capacity of the anchors since the test performed in 1991 was observed. It was also observed that the creep rate increased significantly for load levels above 90% of the pullout capacity, up to values much higher than the acceptance criterion.
