Due to the limited resources of mobile terminals, the service providers are adopting more cloud infrastructure to provide a powerful service for limited devices. This use needs the implementation of strong security mechanisms to guarantee the protection of information and data traffic. Since mobile devices have limited resources, it is still a major challenge to optimize and provide security simultaneously. In this work, we consider real time multimedia service, specifically video streaming, as a highly requiring service. We propose adaptive encryption scheme that takes into consideration user's mobile resources and energy consumption. Only symmetric bloc encryption algorithms are considered, since they suit the best for real time multimedia services. Furthermore, the proposed solution should guarantee an acceptable level of Quality of Experience, which is the service quality as perceived by the end user, according to a previously set SLA.
