摘要

Authentication is the process by which a user is verified through different type of security systems, in order to access their private resources and information in a confidential and protective manner. For every security system in the world, the main aim is to protect the resources from illegal activity and correctly verifying a legal user among various users. But most of the security systems are facing a deep fall in their goal due to different attacks on the systems like shoulder surfing attacks, dictionary attacks and cyber-attacks etc. As the most popular authentication systems involve the use of alpha numeric passwords but they have many issues as they are easy to guess. That's why they are not secure to be applicable at all. Graphical password comprises of images, pictures, logos serve as a password that are easy for the user to be applicable and have huge impact on the mind for a long time. Different approaches are proposed on this scheme. This paper is also focused on GUI based authentication system that uses interactive drawing of graphical shapes like square and uses ASCII submission for authentication.
