In the AC permanent magnet synchronous linear motor (PMSLM) vector control system, closed-loop feedback is required for the speed and position the mover. The accuracy of the mover's position has a great influence on the closed-loop control performance, so the position identification algorithm which is economical and reliable is needed. Thus, it has become a hot spot in the field of PMLSM and its control. This article studies how to improve the starting performance through a square wave start strategy. This strategy can meet the needs of the mover position estimation through PMSLM field-oriented vector control system in the condition of using discrete low-resolution Hall signal to obtain a continuous high-resolution position.
