Floquet Modal Analysis to Study Radiation Pattern for Coupled Almost Periodic Antenna Array

This paper presents a new Floquet analysis used to calculate the radiation for a coupled periodic antenna systems. In this way, an accurate evaluation of mutual coupling could be proven by using a new mutual interaction expression expression which is based on Fourier analysis. Then, this work indicates how Floquet analysis can be used to study a finite array with arbitrary amplitude and linear phase distribution in both x-y directions. To modelize the proposed structures, two formulation are given in spectral and spatial domain, where the Moment method combined with Generalised Equivalent circuit (MoMGEC) is applied. High directivity with a reduced radiation main lobe is shown by varying many parameters like frequencies, distance and Floquet states, etc. To validate this work, several examples are discussed and elaborated.
