TCP optimization implementation of a small embedded system

In small embedded systems, the operating system functions are often relatively weak, even without an operating system; while the capacity of ROM and RAM is small; most systems require real-time, the software is required to be portable for different processors. This paper describes a TCP implementation method suitable for embedded systems, in line with the compatibility specification of RFC1122, but the size of the code is only 30% of the BSD TCP. This implementation method emphasizes the simplification of TCP to improve reliability; and makes use several simplified TCP optimization techniques including the prediction of header, retransmission and return to enhance the performance. This TCP does not have to be supported by an operating system assuming that the entire IP stack is running on the bare machine.
