With the rapid development of public transportation, the level of service (LOS) of various modes is greatly improved. This current situation leads to mode choice diversity, including both single and combined modes, which makes the mode choice preference analysis under multi-mode circumstance more complicated. To shed more insight into citizens' mode choice behavior, this paper takes Suzhou as a case and adopts the multinomial logit (MNL) model to investigate citizens' preferences. A stated preference (SP) survey was designed to obtain personal attributes and preference data for various scenarios. Then, a MNL-based multi-mode choice model is established and calibrated using SP data. Finally, Suzhou citizens' mode choice preferences are analyzed and some policy implications are proposed. The results show that citizens prefer combined modes due to better accessibility in long distance trips. However, "public bicycle+metro" mode is less attractive in long distance trips comparing with "bus+metro" mode.
