To explore the effect of drowsiness levels on the driving suitability indicators, a driving suitability test was carried out among 38 professional drivers on suitability test equipment. By means of KSS questionnaires analysis, participants' self-rating drowsiness level was recorded in real time before the test; the reported drowsiness degrees were grouped into three levels: sober, mild drowsiness, severe drowsiness. The research of the driving suitability results under different drowsiness level indicated that drivers under 30 years old or with ten years of driving experience were more likely to be sober than older age groups in the same period of time and under the same experimental conditions. A driver's drowsiness level has a significant impact on their action judgment and choice reaction in different tests, and their drowsiness level can be predicted well only by analyzing these two driving suitability indicators. In the study, other indicators such as scotopia, emergency reactions, and hand reaction errors are also largely related to drowsiness levels.
