摘要

Reducing human errors caused by secondary distraction tasks is very important for improving road traffic safety. Based on many studies, secondary task distraction was introduced from the naturalistic driving data, the influences of distraction on driving performance were given, the effects on driving safety were determined, and the suggestions reducing distractions were put forward. The results show that the in-vehicle systems and the man-machine interface design have great difference, will result in different levels of distracted driving. Cell phones was found to have a greater impact by causing conflicts and errors than the other in-vehicle secondary tasks. Navigation system address input can lead to more than 50% of the vehicle lateral deviation, frequent braking, and errors and maintain lane position. About 92% of the distractions caused by items can be avoided. In-vehicle secondary task distraction can be avoided by making countermeasures and methods. The conclusions can provide theoretical basis for vehicle equipment operation, driver training, and traffic regulations.
