Conclusion: Among the tour test parameters, suture size, barb length and needle type had a significant influence on the anchoring performance of the barbed sutures. In order to achieve a higher anchoring performance, a larger suture size should be selected. While selecting needles, the trauma caused by the cutting needles should be compared with the ease of suturing. Longer barbs are flimsy, easy to bend and peel back from the main suture body, which results in early barb failure and a lower pullout force.
