With the continuous increase of the voltage grade in the substation, the switch operating overvoltage, especially the very fast transient overvoltage (VFTO), and the electromagnetic interference of the transformer in the substation caused by VFTO has attracted more and more attention. Based on a new generation of intelligent 330kV substation demonstration project, which has the highest voltage level in China, this paper analyses the physical process of the generation and propagation of VFTO in the high voltage substation by combining the simulation calculation with the test detection. Taking the high frequency transient model of the acquisition unit based on Roche coil as an example, the signal waveforms of the Roche coil port under VFTO are obtained. By comparing the simulation data and the signal waveforms of the measured merging unit, the high frequency electromagnetic interference characteristics of substation equipment under VFTO are reflected.
