摘要

Single-phase-to-ground fault in power distribution system with neutral point non-effectively grounded has different fault characteristics compared with other short-circuit faults. Single-phase-to-ground fault will not lead to over current but generate travelling waves information. Overcurrent protection for other short-circuit faults can't be applied to protect single-phase-to-ground fault. In this paper, a fast identification algorithm for single-phase-to-ground fault based on traveling wave is proposed. The proposed algorithm can accurately identify single-phase-to-ground fault from other short-circuit faults. Based on the algorithm, adaptive protection of distribution lines is presented using travelling waves and overcurrent.
