摘要

Data mining discovers useful rules or patterns from a set of data. Its role is more and more important in the era of big data because it can provide compact and relevant knowledge instead of detailed data to users. Meanwhile, the research of computational intelligence has been very popular because it combines some intelligent approaches such as fuzzy logic, evolutionary computation and neural networks to make programs or systems effective and efficient, although the solutions may not be optimal. In this speech, I would like to link the techniques of computational intelligence and data mining together for different kinds of mining problems. Some extended topics are described and discussed as well.
