A Cluster-based Approach for Cognitive Radio Networks

Nowadays, in wireless communication, mobile users use fixed spectrum allocation (FSA) scheme, where a fixed spectrum band assigned to each mobile users for communication. Due to the FSA scheme, bandwidth crises happen in which mobile users cannot get the proper networks. The solution to avoid bandwidth crises is to use dynamic spectrum allocation (DSA) scheme. DSA is future wireless technology usages by mobile networks known as Cognitive Radios Networks (CRNs), in this paper, we have focused over the network performance by introducing the cluster-based approach, in which entire cognitive radio networks are divided into small-small sub-networks known as the cluster. Simulation results indicate that the cluster approach improves network performance in terms of throughput.
