The study proved that variables can be manipulated to produce specific sizes of beads. This means that microbeads can be manufactured specifically to accommodate osteoclast like cells and be of appropriate size to be injected into sites of calcification. Production of microbeads capable of accomplishing this could prove to be an important step in therapy for vascular calcification.
