Conductive Silver Layers on Anodic Aluminum Oxide

This study demonstrates the possibility of silver layer fabrication on nanoporous anodic aluminum oxide (AAO) by electroless deposition with tin (II) ions preactivating of the surface. Scanning electron microscopy and energydispersive X-ray spectroscopy were used to observe the layer morphology and the silver penetration into AAO respectively. The kinetics of the chemical deposition on the nanoporous surface and the influence of the silver thickness on the sheet resistance of obtained layers were established.
