摘要

In order to use semi-finished cast products in the forging process, it is necessary to provide an appropriate casting microstructure. If the chemical composition of the alloy cannot be changed (e.g. through the grain refinement), the main factor determining the obtaining of a finer grain size is the cooling rate and indirectly solidification time. The presented results showed that it is possible to determine the optimal cooling condition in order to obtain proper casting microstructure.
