摘要

Due to its low density and high mechanical strength aluminium is one of widely used structural materials in space and satellite technologies. Hard anodizing is a permanent coating method which increases not only mechanical and corrosion properties but also electrical insulation properties of aluminium alloys. There are several test methods to see insulation properties of materials. Insulating materials need high electric field for the formation of current, i.e. electron movement, which is called as electrical breakdown potential. Electrical breakdown potential test is an important method to get information about insulation level of anodized aluminium alloys. In our work; insulating properties of hard anodized AA7075-T6 aluminium alloy tried to be defined quantitatively by electrical breakdown potential and alternative test methods.
