At present, N-1 security of AC-HVDC-systems is evaluated separately for both the AC and HVDC system. The application of Voltage Source Converters (VSCs) ensures a controlled power exchange between both systems. This enables a combined system operation and therefore a combined security assessment of both systems. This work proposes a Preventive Security Constrained Optimal Power Flow (PSCOPF), which adapts VSC set-points (pVSC and uDC) and their droop gain of the DC voltage control in order to increase the overall system security by minimizing the number of critical contingencies. Thereby, all possible equipment outages are considered in the N-1 analysis. The PSCOPF method is based on a Differential Evolution algorithm. Furthermore, it is investigated if VSC set-points and droop gains can be optimised simultaneously or in a staggered approach.
