Logistic regression and cluster analysis were used to compare the influence of age on the selection of traditional Chinese medicine.The results showed that there were 8 kinds of traditional Chinese medicine which had no significant effect on the frequency of use with the increase of age, and they were divided into 2 groups by cluster analysis; there were 8 kinds of traditional Chinese medicine whose frequency of use increased significantly with the increase of age, and they were divided into 2 groups; there were 12 kinds of traditional Chinese medicine whose frequency of use decreased significantly with the increase of age, and they were divided into 3 groups.A conclusion can be drew that young women are full of healthy qi and strong constitution. Their diseases are mainly caused by excess and evil. The treatment principle of drugs is to dredge, dissipate, clear away heat and detoxify. For middle-aged women, deficiency of liver and kidney and deficiency of vital energy are the main treatment principles.
