Improve the Indoor Air Quality Based on Internet of Things

摘要

This study used sensors to monitor indoor carbon dioxide (CO2) concentration and fine particulate matter (PM 2.5) concentrations. Air purification equipment was run automatically to improve indoor ventilation when PM 2.5 and CO2 concentrations reach a certain level. In this paper, the Internet of Things (IoT) technology was used to upload monitoring data to the Internet. Besides, an APP was developed, which allows users to monitor air quality on mobile devices instantly. This system improved the indoor air quality of the case condition. The result implies that the smart ventilation system can lower the concentration of indoor pollutions and affect energy consumption. In addition, it will help to ensure the prevention of allergic rhinitis and respiratory diseases. That is the main contribution of this paper.
