Risk stratification in breast cancer (BCa) screening is a current recommendation and is based on current modeling tools for risk assessment.1 These models use genetic markers, family history, and the patient's hormonal and medical history to make an estimate of their lifetime risk for developing BCa. Reports of these models being applied on different cohorts from around the world have shown a range of area tinder the curve (AUC) performance from 0.5 - 0.71. A critique of these models is the lack of non-genetic information, such as tissue characteristics observed in radiographic investigations.
