摘要

Summary form only presented. Passive microwave measurement enables the quantitative monitoring of the tropical atmosphere and the hydrometeor profiles with application to existing and future space borne microwave radiometers for monitoring the Earth's climate and hydrologic cycle. The Advanced Microwave Precipitation Radiometer (AMPR) was deployed during the Tropical Ocean Global Atmosphere (TOGA) Coupled Ocean-Atmosphere Response Experiment (COARE) from January 4 to February 24, 1993. The brightness temperature, Tb, due to the emission, absorption, and scattering of a variety of clear-sky, overcast, and precipitation weather conditions were measured by the AMPR during this time. These data are to be used for convection and precipitation studies supporting the goals of NASA's Mission to Planet Earth.
